top five ... or so

I'm a big fan of the underground superbands. For some reason I'm really drawn to bands that can sell out club shows pretty fast but somehow maintain street cred. It intrigues me, the phenomenon of selling albums but not selling out. It's a thin, transparent line, and I don't envy the musicians that have to walk it.
