Famed celebrity photographer David LaChapelle shot down Jessica and Ashlee Simpson at the beginning of New York's 2005 Fashion Week:

I don't have anything against the girls, except they have mediocre talent and somehow the celebrity engine keeps them afloat. Their egos balloon, they feel entitled to their positions, and they lose all touch with reality. Soon they're parading around with the latest $10,000 bag that holds a minituarized dog wearing a diamond dog collar and saying things like, "I worked really hard to get here, so I'm gonna enjoy every ounce of success I've earned." Poop on that.
