sunshine day
Today started out nicely: I opened the door of my apartment and saw a $1 bill laying on the floor. Sweet. Thank you, karma. It's a sunny day, not too cold, end of the week. Good day. I stop at Tully's for a cup of my morning sunshine and pass on my $1 karma to the baristas who serve me everyday. Thanks guys.
That'll learn me. One of the baristas informs me: My good luck is actually bad luck in disguise. What if that $1 I picked up was to be used by the unfortunate loser to feed a child? No more tips for you, smartass. And then his words stick. Now I'm carrying bad luck around like a storm cloud.
Then the news starts: A friend was laid off from work, a second friend's father is having serious legal troubles and faces many months at a federal penitentiary, a third friend is experiencing a glass ceiling at work, a fourth friend is feeling especially alienated lately. Sorry everyone. My fault.
Then, after a discussion with coworkers about the voice talent who reads every single movie trailer narration out there, I remembered the trailer for the Seinfeld movie "Comedian". Found it, watched it, and my spirits (and hopefully luck) took an upswing. I recommend you watch it too.
